Why I Started This Blog

Living in the Cleveland area my whole life, I have learned to love all of the things that it has to offer. I've also met many people who are very negative about our great city. There are so many things to do here and I am here to share my experiences with you and get the word out about the all of the wonderful things that Cleveland has to offer. I am one of the rarities who has lived on both the west side and the east side and love both equally.

Thanks for visiting and please feel free to share any experiences, comments, and rants and raves you have with me. Would love to hear them!

Pizza, Peace, Love and Coffee

Whenever I am alone for dinner, I go to Whole Foods (Cedar and Warrensville) and go to their prepared section. Usually I get their sushi which is pretty damn good but last night I decided to try their pizza which I also placed in the "damn good" category. They were having some class there about winter gardening that looked super boring to me, but the peeps there looked like they were thoroughly enjoying it, which I was glad to see since the woman who was teaching actually had a PowerPoint presentation and looked pretty excited about the topic. After that, I decided that it was a beautiful night to ride my bike and not get too sweaty! I rode down Fairmount and looked at all the beautiful homes on that street. I would love to know the history of some of those homes and the people who live in them. I then rode up Cedar and turned onto Lee. It was amazing to see all the people out walking around, shopping, and sitting out on the different patios at Tavco, Anatolia Cafe and Taste. I locked up my bike on a rack and went inside Phoenix Coffee, got myself a Light Iced Mocha and sat outside at one of their tables. I'm sorry but Starbucks ain't got nothin on some Phoenix iced mochas. They taste like straight chocolate milk on ice laced with coke and meth. While I was sitting there, all of the sudden some dude sat down at my table. He was probably about 16ish, good looking, African-American gentleman that kept telling me that I had pretty eyes. He said, "what are you mixed with?" I said,"lots of white things". He thought that was pretty hilarious. He said,"well good to talk to you, peace." Then he continued walking down the street. It's nice sometimes when someone just wants to talk without trying to hit on me, tell me weird/stupid stories, rob me or ask me for money. We really do have some great, friendly people here in the Cleve.

  1. Hey Melissa,
I am so glad that you started this blog.
I also went bike riding today for two hours. Mildly sweaty through the Rocky River MetroPark.
I saw lots of gorgeous athletic hot people getting their work out, walk, walking the dog on.
Tons of great places on Detroit Ave in Lakewood, lots of local bars, dining places, antique stores, salons, and churches. People were friendly on the trail to talk to, or like ask questions. No compliments like yours though.
Awesomeness, I look forward to more stories from you about the awesomeness of Cleveland.
There's a lot going on here, you just need to think outside the box and get out the house and explore local neighborhoods. Break the routine of your life.

  2. Today we went to the CV National Park for a bike ride on the towpath and a very informative talk on the canal at the visitor center. Next time I would like to hop on and off the train and explore the park, or at least go to Carvel's for ice cream!
